Blessing for today ~ A Turning Point ~
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. ~ Anne Bradstreet
Today is the first day of Winter, the Winter Solstice. It is the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere, the shortest night in the southern, and we also have a new moon. It is the perfect time to reflect and plan for the new year. Release old thoughts, patterns and beliefs; and embrace creativity and visionary planning. Because we experience the chills of Winter, we welcome the warmth of Spring. Because we encounter the challenge of adversity, we appreciate the plenitude of seasoned insight. Adversity forces change that can ultimately lead to personal growth and enlightened understanding.
Adversity is a doorway to enlightenment. The beating and bashing about by the wind and weather give a tree the opportunity to toughen up and grow strong with a firm foundation. The battery of life’s difficulties provides us with the possibility of development of wisdom and strength of character. We accept the adversity of Winter as the catalyst for magnanimous Springtime.
Solstice is, by definition, a turning point.
Where will your turning point lead you today?
