It is a richly inspiring experience to observe as a young soul-seeker discerns the concept that is new to them, that the soul is not simply a spirit in a bottle (a light being in a vessel). Finding the soul through the heart is finding that the soul is vast, even limitless. The soul is not a piece of the universe. It IS the universe, and more. Often I use words like “connect with” or “a part of”, although I am aware that these words are barely a shadow of a deeper truth. I use them in light meditations and conversations with spiritual students and apprentices because they are easily understood. These simple words provide an uncomplicated thought to grasp as a bridge to deeper concepts. This bridge leads to a path of enlightened understanding of ever-expanding consciousness. The mind alone is incapable of fully grasping the capaciousness of the soul. The heart grows as it is filled with peace, forgiveness, and the unconditional love that is the oneness of existence. As the heart is enlarged by this love, it provides a space for greater awareness. Following a mindful daily spiritual practice for being in the sacred space of the soul brings enlightened insight into the boundless nature of the soul.
